Moncion Metro

Moncion Metro has been a staple of the Pembroke community for many years. The Moncion family first opened their doors in 1952 on the corner of Murray and Mary Street, before moving to their present location in 1961. Conducting nearly 10,000 transactions every week, they are known throughout the community as a valued and trusted business.

Moncion Metro has long been a supporter of inclusive employment and have a close corporate relationship with Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley. “The Bee Successful program has really been amazing to be apart of,” says owner Sylvianne Moncion Duff “the support we get has been very good. The program has been thought through well, executed well, an very well organized. Your team does excellent job matching, and brings forward excellent candidates to find employment.”

This particular candidate, Riley, has proven to be a fantastic addition to the staff at Metro. Riley works to prepare the fresh vegetables sold daily to Moncion Metro customers. “Riley does a very good job,” adds Sylvianne “what he does is an important task that needs to be done in our store. Riley is very hard-working and ambitious – he gets along with all our staff and he has made the transition for us very easy. We hope to have him here long-term!”

Sylvianne took over Moncion Grocers from her parents in 1999 and has followed in their footsteps as a strong community member. A sterling Metro Ontario franchise, they additionally partner with the Salvation Army and the Pembroke Regional Hospital, as well as various local schools and non-profit organizations by donating food and raising money. We’re extremely honoured to work with them.
